2020 emptied museums and cultural spaces worldwide. The Mart Foundation needed to keep audiences connected to art and performance during lockdowns. Museums sat vacant while people craved cultural experiences at home.

Truth

Pandemic lockdowns created unprecedented emptiness in spaces designed for crowds. But empty museums offered something rarely seen: pure space for movement. Absence created unexpected creative opportunity.

Idea

Renowned choreographers reimagined vacant cultural spaces through dance. The project filled empty museums with choreography, transforming pandemic gloom into movement and hope. Art occupied the spaces people couldn't.
